Basic types of sealers and areas of application
Impregnation of the coatings is important for their maintenance and washability. If you want to use a coating, for example, on the floor or on the wall behind the kitchen counter, sealing is an essential part of the whole application. It is currently possible to finish Microbond coatings with two systems.
System impregnation components
Cerbero WP – hydrophobic impregnation
It is a transparent, ecological product which aims to reduce the primary absorption of the coatings.
Cerbero WP has the following advantages:
1) Simplified and more stable application of the whole system
2) Improvement of homogeneity of individual subsequently applied layers
3) Improved function of the whole system
Cerbero WP is always applied as the 1st impregnation layer, i.e. as the first layer on the polished final layer of Microbond. Thanks to the consistency of Cerbero WP, all layers of the coatings will be filled in depth. Ideally, use the Snappy or Smoother applicator for application, or you can also use a roller or spray with a low-pressure nebulizer.
The product is not to be diluted and is ready for direct application. Apply evenly and avoid local drying. This means, for example, that in the case of application to walls, the application does not take place first on the edges and then on the surface. In this case, the areas could dry before application to the surface and there would be a risk of a light contour. It is therefore advisable to apply continuously from A to B. Apply until the coating is fully saturated.
Cerbero Base – one-component primer
After Cerbero WP has dried (approx. 2-3 hours), apply Cerbero Base using a roller or a Snappy / Smoother applicator. The application of this layer does not require any specific measures. Apply evenly.
Application of two-component sealers
After Cerbero Base (1-2 hours) has dried, apply the impregnation GiGi Sealer or Cerbero Sealer. Use the information in the relevant technical data sheets for application.
Method of application of selaers
The coating impregnation process is the finalisation of the entire application. This is a very important part – high-quality impregnation has a fundamental impact on the required functionality of the coating and its properties.
If the impregnation composition starts with Cerbero WP, the whole system can be applied with a microfiber roller with a minimum hair length of 8 mm.
