Types of grinding tools
After curing the second layer of the Microbond coating (approx. 24 hours), it is time for sanding. It is advisable to perform this procedure within two days. Every day, the coating increases in hardness and so you will spend more and more effort on sanding. If you choose to sand the surface, using an eccentric sander or a single disc machine is ideal. Small areas can also be sanded by hand. After sanding, thoroughly vacuum all dust and other debris from the surface. After perfect cleaning, the surface prepared in this way is ready for the final treatment by a sealer.
What to avoid when sanding?
- sanding should be even, do not try to sand some local zones in a different way than the rest of the area;
- rub the surface in circular motions.
Types of abrasive
It is advisable to use abrasives from the best manufacturers. The grain size of the abrasive cloth when sanding Ercole should range from 80 to 120, while when sanding Microbond it should range from 120 to 220. Both abrasive cloth and nets can be used.
